Scale: Batmaid' Expansion in Europe
Andreas Schollin-Borg is a serial entrepreneur from Vaud, who, at just 33, helms Batgroup SA (owner of Batmaid and Batsoft) as the CEO and co-founder. Under his visionary leadership, the company has emerged as a forerunner in the Swiss housekeeping industry.
Since its inception, the platform has been a beacon of change, aiding over 5,000 housekeeping professionals to transition from the black market. This commitment to progress saw Batmaid announce, in 2021, its ambitions to further its footprint in 21 cities across 15 countries. The company also intended to raise CHF25 million in funding.
The aspiration to grow internationally came with its set of hurdles. The chief amongst them was a somewhat antagonistic media environment. Batmaid's operations were misconstrued and negatively linked with the uberization of the economy.
Such associations posed not only a PR challenge but threatened the very perception and integrity of the brand.
